American goalkeeper Hahnemann, who received rave reviews after some great performances in the Royals goal, has been released by Fulham at the end of his contract.
Alan Pardew is said to be looking for a new goalkeeper to provide back-up for Phil Whitehead, and maybe even push him for the number one shirt.
Available on a free transfer, after leaving Fulham at the end of his three year deal Hahnemann could be the perfect signing for Reading.
The 30-year-old joined Fulham in June 1999 for $150,000 from Colorado Rapids. After failing to break into the Cottagers side the 6ft 4in goalie was farmed out to Rochdale and Reading on loan last season.
