Steve Coppell had been expected to be paraded as the new boss today but the club now expect to install their new man on Monday. Coppell was insistent that he first takes charge of the Seagulls game against Blackpool tomorrow.
In a statement to the official site today Chief Executive Nigel Howe confirmed that the appointment process is on-going.
"The interview process is still ongoing and I do not expect us to make an appointment until Monday at the earliest."
The Royals go into tomorrow's game against Bradford City without anyone to take charge of the team. Kevin Dillon, who has been over-seeing first team affairs since Alan Pardew's departure sixteen days ago, will not be present at tomorrow's game.
Dillon has returned to his native North-East due to a family bereavement. Without anyone with any managerial experience to take charge of the team for tomorrow's game it is expected that Chief Scout Brian McDerrmott will take charge of first team affairs.
