The highly-rated 21-year-old midfielder was plastered across the back pages of the Sunday papers last weekend as speculative journalists linked the midfield man to Alex McLeish's struggling Rangers.
Sidwell, who has had Premiership scouts watching him all season, admitted he would be interested in playing for Rangers, one of Europe's top clubs.
"They are massive club with a fantastic history but my focus is on finishing the season well with Reading and hopefully getting promotion to the Premiership. Then we'll see what happens in the summer.
"I know there were reports in the papers over the weekend linking me with a possible move to Rangers and there's no doubt it's always flattering to be mentioned in such a way," said Sidwell, speaking to icons.com.
However, Sidwell has affirmed that he will remain focused on giving his all for Reading Football Club. The Royals, three points adrift of the play-off places, have sixteen crucial matches remaining this season which could end with Premiership football.
"At the moment i'm just concentrating on playing football and I certainly won't be distracted from continuing to give my all for Reading," he added.
"From a personal point of view it's a good confidence boost to know other clubs are interested in me but, as a player, you tend to let speculation and paper talk like this go in one ear and out the other."
Sidwell, who has had a mightily impressive season in Reading's midfield, has been linked with a variety of top clubs in recent months so one must wonder for how much longer the Royals will be able to hold onto him.
The Wandsworth born midfielder joined Reading a year ago for a fee of £300,000 after Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reluctantly agreed to let his reserve team player leave the club. Steve has previously enjoyed loan spells at Brentford and Brighton under current Royals boss Steve Coppell.
