When those wondrous displays are combined with the midfield wizardry the youngster has shown in the opening three games of the season, there was no way David Platt could fail to pick the flame-haired starlet.
The England under 21's play Croatia at Upton Park on Tuesday evening in a friendly game. Sidwell should play at least some part, and may well start.
