Reading midfielder Sammy Igoe could be fit to return from injury sooner than had previously been expected. The ex-Portsmouth star has resumed training after struggling with a groin injury and he could even be fit to face M4 rivals Bristol City on Saturday. It had been feared that Igoe, whose contract is up in the summer, would be forced to have an operation.
Igoe told readingfc.co.uk "The injury's not bad, I did little training on Monday, no ball work but a little running. I'm doing more on Tuesday and we'll see how it responds.
"I'm not sure about Saturday, we'll have to wait and see. It's not too bad today. Hopefully I can be back for Saturday but there's Monday as well."
