Royals Kick Out Cannabis Kid Angan

Didier Angan, an Ivory Coast international defender, who had been brought in on a weeks trial by manager Alan Pardew, has been set packing after revelations that he was banned for smoking cannabis two years ago.

With the club quite rightly not wanting to take on a known football bad-boy Didier Angan will not be seen in Reading colours.

The incident occured two years ago, for which the player served a two month ban. However, Pards decided against bringing the 27-year-old in because of lies told by the players agent.

Alan Pardew explained the scenario to readingfc.co.uk: "The agent didn't make me aware that he served a ban for cannabis use. He was painted whiter than white and although the cannabis ban doesn't really bother me too much, the fact the agent didn't make it clear to me has ended this issue.

"So the player has lost out. Not because of him, but because the agent wasn't truthful with me. If I am going to deal in the international market I have to be able to trust these people and on this occasion I have been let down."
