Royals Duo Expected To Play Following Injury Scare

Both Andy Hughes and Graeme Murty are expected to be passed fit to play in tomorrow's game against Ronnie Moore's Rotherham.

The duo are both likely to shrug off fitness concerns and take up places in the starting line-up.

Hughes had been suffering from a minor groin strain, whilst full-back Graeme Murty was struggling with an ankle injury.

Their return is a major boost to boss Steve Coppell who, with Glen Little certain to miss the game, would have faced a major selection headache, given the small size of the club's squad.

Winger Glen Little will sit out tomorrow's game having not yet recovered from a hamstring injury sustained ten days ago at Upton Park.

It is therefore likely that Coppell won't make any changes to the side that defeated Sheffield United 1-0 last weekend. American international winger Bobby Convey is again expected to start on the left-flank.

The 21-year-old has had something of a difficult start to his Reading career having to fight it out in the midfield at both Sheffield United and West Ham.

But he will be making his first competitive appearance at the Madejski Stadium tomorrow and hopefully will be given the license to express himself.

Desperate for another three points, Reading boss Steve Coppell revealed that he will send his team out to attack tomorrow against Rotherham,.

"We are the home side and have responsibility to take the game to them. They don't give much away but that's even more reason for us to look to be positive," he said, speaking to the official site.

Yet opponents Rotherham United will be hoping to record their first win of the season. The Yorkshire side, who defeated Reading 5-1 at Millmoor earlier this year, have drawn their opening three matches of the campaign.

Ronnie Moore's chances of snatching all three points have been dealt a blow as the Millers are likely to be without four first team players.

Andy Monkhouse and Martin McIntosh will also have to sit the game out, whilst ex-WBA defender Phil Gilchrist faces a late fitness test to determine whether he can play any part.

Former Reading striker Martin Butler has been suffering from Hepatitis A so definitely won't play tomorrow. Yet the Millers are hoping that he will return to light training within the next couple of weeks.

Probable Reading Line-Up: (4-4-2) Hahnemann; Shorey, Williams, Ingimarsson, Murty; Convey, Harper, Sidwell, Hughes; Forster, Kitson;
