Royals Drop To Third

Brentford convincingly defeated fifth place Huddersfield today and in doing so leapfrogged Reading. The Royals do not play until Sunday but find themselves behind Steve Coppell's side on goal difference. However, they have a game in hand.

Brighton meanwhile completed a 1-0 win over Peterborough, who the Royals face on next weekend. Bobby Zamora scored the only goal of the game on his return from injury despite having missed a third minute penalty. They are now on the verge of automatic promotion.

It is vitally important that the Royals now get maximum points out of their remaining games otherwise it will go right down to the wire, with Reading most likely having to travel to Brentford on the final day of the season needing a win.
