The Terriers, who have knocked out Division One sides Sunderland and Derby in the previous rounds, will visit the Madejski Stadium during the last week of October. A place in the final sixteen will be at stake. A Cup Final appearance is potentially just four games away.
In an ideal world, the Royals would have been drawn against Wolves or Alan Pardew's West Ham, a uber grudge match. However, Huddersfield, supposedly easy meat, will have to suffice.
Huddersfield, who are languishing in Division Three, were hardly delighted with the draw either.
Showing a lack of respect to the First Division Royals, following the draw Terriers boss Peter Jackson commented: "I'm a little bit disappointed at the draw.
"There were some big side left in the draw. Leeds, Arsenal and Man United were still in there. It is not the glamour tie that I had hoped for but it will be a tough game so we will just have to win there to get a glamour tie in the next round!"
"It would have been nice to have been drawn at home, but we will always create chances away from home, it's just whether we can keep it tight at the back. It's another Cup tie and a payday for the club, not the one we had hoped for, but it is still a payday."
Meanwhile, financially troubled Notts County have been drawn against mega-rich Chelsea in an almost poetic match up of contrasting football clubs. A few of Abramovich's spare pennies would be more than enough to save County from the doldrums.
Rotherham have also been handed a money-spinning tie, they travel to Arsenal to face Tony Adams' old club.
