Aaron Brown (ankle) and Michael Duberry (ribs) are back in training, but Glen Little (Achilles) and John Oster (ankle) remain sidelined.

Portsmouth hope to welcome back defender Glen Johnson and midfielder Sulley Muntari.

However, Sean Davis, Noe Pamarot and Pedro Mendes are severe doubts while Kanu and Lauren could be rested.

  • Reading boss Steve Coppell on whether his side's 7-4 defeat at Portsmouth earlier this season will motivate his players:
"I can't say until after the match.

"They are a good team, they spent £20-odd million in the summer and we don't have that ability. So we have to depend on the qualities we have.

"I don't know, if anything it should spur them on and put things right."

  • Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp on his side's topsy-turvy form since the 7-4 win:
"I think it's coincidence the way it's gone, because we haven't played badly.

"We were scoring goals before. What have I done that is different?

"Why did we score seven against Reading and haven't scored at home since? How did we win six on the spin away?"
