Reading came from behind three times to take Darlington into extra time and then penalties.

Bikey scored the winning kick on a very late night at the Madejski.

During the 90 mins Leroy Lita scored twice for Reading who looked like going out when it was 3 - 2 to Darlington with 5 mins to go. Then controversy. Peter Mate, on his debut, appeared to score using his arm, the goal was given and the match went into extra time.
