The former Royals returned to his former stomping ground for the first time since he left to join the South-Coast side back in the summer of 2000, to the disappointment of many Reading fans.
Speaking after the match admitted to the Portsmouth Official Site: "It was a tough game for us, a real challenge for us. We expected them to come at us and they were well up for it but we managed to cope well.
"Either side could have won it. Forster had a good chance for them and Toddy had a good chance for us. On another day either side could have won it, a draw was probably a fair result."
Commenting on his own performance Linvoy added: "I had a good battle against John Salako. I've played against him before and I've really had my hands full.
"I am not used to playing on the right-hand side, and I prefer to defend rather than bombing down the flank like Lee Dixon. You'll be lucky to see me break down the flank once in forty-five minutes! But I couldn't care where i play as it's great to be playing in a winning side."
