Reading captain Phil Parkinson is currently in Germany with the Royals squad, training hard for the forthcoming Division one campaign.
In between the hard work in preparation for the big kick off, Reading V Derby, Pride Park August 10th; Parky took time out and told readingfc.co.uk: "Pre season has been good so far, we've had great facilities at Bradfield, but going to Germany breaks things up.
"It's always good for the lads to get away together.We'll be taining hard, and maybe we'll have one night out, you never know! We're playing a couple of games, they'll give the gaffer a chance to look at our style of play and the team he wants to select."
The Royals squad return to England on Sunday 28th. They will play two home pre season friendlies before the start of the season againmst Charlton and West Ham on the 2nd and 5ht of August respectively.
The Chorley-born Royals captain added: "Once you get to the games against Charlton and West Ham we must treat them as proper games. There's no point holding anything back because we must be ready for Derby".
