The Slough born centre-forward, who has scored one goal for Reading during his two-month tenure at the club, is hoping that Saturday's game with Rotherham will not be his last for the club.
Whilst a third month on loan at the Madejski is a definite possibility, one must question whether the Royals will be prepared to sign 27-year-old Owusu on a permanent basis given that financially-troubled Sheffield Wednesday will want a transfer fee for their former-Brentford flop.
However, Owusu has impressed at the club and has shown signs of forging a good partnership with veteran finisher Shaun Goater. Indeed, given Forster's recent injury a loan extension at the very least appears to be very likely.
Owusu revealed that he is hopeful that Reading can come to an agreement with Sheffield Wednesday.
"We'll see what the gaffer here wants and want Sheffield Wednesday want and if they can come up with a deal," he said to the official site.
"I'd like to stay (at Reading). Everyone knows I'm enjoying my football and being back down south with my friends and family I feel better."
The Reading manager is likely to be keen on bringing in Owusu on a permanent basis as the duo have previously linked up successfully at Brentford.
Whatever happens in the long-run, Owusu can expect to obtain a starting role at Millmoor this weekend alongside Goater. Coppell will not want to break the front two up given their match winning display against Derby last weekend. With Nicky Forster struck down by injury, Dean Morgan and Bas Savage are the club's only alternate attacking options.
