Omar Daley's name will next week officially be added to Reading's burgeoning list of midfielders.
The 22-year-old, who began training with the Royals earlier this week, has received clearance to play football in this country.
On Monday Reading Football Club confirmed the transfer, subject to a successful work permit application. But the home office have now granted Daley a work permit, although it will be a few days before the paperwork is formally completed.
A club statement read: "Hopefully the paperwork will arrive early this week, and there is a chance he could make his Royals debut for the reserves on Wednesday afternoon."
The Jamaican international previously had a move to Charlton blocked when a work permit was not granted, but Reading Football Club were always confident that the deal would go through as the youngster is now a regular Jamaican international.
Reading fans will be expecting much from the new man who joins the club on an initial year-long loan from Portmore United. Alan Pardew has been mightily impressed by the midfielders performances in training, such is his technical ability.
It remains to be seen whether Omar can adapt to English football, but Pards may just have got himself a gem...
