Hunt sat out the defeat to Burnley two years ago after he broke his foot and then burst his appendix but is fit and raring to go against the Bluebirds.
Hunt said: "Last time I watched us lose from a hospital bed when my appendix ruptured so hopefully I'm fit and ready to be involved this time.
"It won't be a case of pushing the morphine button and going to sleep!
"It was horrible just sitting watching and I don't want that pain again.
"Cardiff are a big team but we are in form and we can treat it like a cup game."
