Merson is confident Pompey will gain another win
Leaders Portsmouth must take on fifth placed Reading tomorrow at the Madejski Stadium in front of a sell-out crowd.

Former England midfielder Merson believes that the Royal's run of six consecutive wins without conceding will come to an end in tommorow's fixture as he declared that Pompey will always score.

"I will be surprised if we walk off the pitch on Saturday and we haven't scored," admitted Merson, speaking to Nationwide.co.uk.

The Division One leaders look like running away with the title, having couped an impressive fifty-one points from twenty-one games so far this season.

However, the Royals are no bad side and currently lie in the Play-Off places despite only been promoted from Division Two last season.

Merson though is very confident that Pompey will have another three points in the bag come two-o-clock on Saturday afternoon, despite the Royals incredible recent record.

"We went up to Burnley when they hadn't lost for ten games and beat them 3-0," added Merson.

"They're going to have to get more than one against us. They're obviously not a bad team. Reading like to pass it around like us. But we should have a bit too much for them.

"I'll be disappointed if we lose. If you matched us up player for player, we'd be too strong. They'll be confident, but they haven't played us yet."
