Reading boss Brian McDermott is confident of repeating last season's remarkable run of form at the Madejski Stadium. The Royals looked certain for relegation at Christmas last year but McDermott collected 40 points from the final 20 games to narrowly miss out on the play-offs. A slow start to the season and the club-record sale of midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson on transfer deadline day has cast something of a shadow over the camp so far this term but McDermott hopes to build on Saturday's 3-0 rout of Crystal Palace. He said: "There is life after Gylfi and that needs to be said. "We went on a run last season and we are trying to do the same again - especially at home. "It's all about the squad we have here and we are looking forward to the next few games."
