Reading manager Brian McDermott believes striker Noel Hunt will benefit after scoring the winner in Saturday's friendly at Farnborough. Hunt was given 30 minutes of action on his return from a lengthy lay-off with a knee injury and scored a poacher's effort to give the Royals victory. McDermott said: "Most of the lads got 45 minutes and it was a really good exercise for us. "I was delighted for Noel that he scored. I spoke to him on the coach on the way to the game and told him to get back amongst it. "He did that, got himself a goal and psychologically that was fantastic for him."
