With eight wins in a row propelling Reading into the thick of the fight for an automatic promotion place, McDermott is in buoyant mood ahead of the televised clash with Simon Grayson's men.
He said: "We'll try to go there, put on a performance and get the right result.
"We'll concentrate completely on what we have to do. It's a fantastic place to play, great atmosphere, great fans, they have a really good team, good manager and we know their history over many years.
"We'll look forward to it, we'll bring a lot of fans and it's live on the TV as well."
