The LMA suspect there maybe a dirty rule-breaking waft surrounding the proposed move and believe the Football League should hold an investigation to ascertain that no rules have been broken.
Alan Pardew yesterday attempted to resign as Reading manager after a week of speculation. However, the Reading board blocked the move, not wanting their boss to join the Hammers, First Division rivals.
A spokesman for the LMA said: "The LMA believes, and indeed expects, that this matter should be the subject of a full and immediate inquiry by the Football League.
"LMA Chief Executive John Barnwell has spoken to Alan Pardew and made him aware of the fact that the Association could not support him or protect him if he decided to terminate his contract unilaterally.
"What the LMA is keen to uncover is just how it became public knowledge that Alan Pardew's name was top of West Ham's wanted list in their search for a successor to Glenn Roeder, therefore creating this difficult position in which the three parties now find themselves."
A dirty legal battle over the matter could be fought in the court rooms if the situation cannot be resolved. Pardew's contract clearly states that he cannot join another First Division club so therefore his move to West Ham shouldn't be allowed to progress.
Meanwhile, rumours are suggesting that Pards threatened to take all his backroom staff with him to Upton Park if the Royals refused to release him from his contract.
The Hammers still want the disgraced boss as their new manager but may have to wait to do so. John Madejski will not give up without a fight whilst the LMA look set to prove to be a further hurdle Pardew must overcome before he can walk out on the club he just a month ago claimed to be loyal to.
