"Dave's had a really good couple of weeks and is ready to join in training on a non-contact basis on Thursday, we'll take it from there and step it up when appropriate," Physio Jon Fearn told the club's official website.
The same cannot be said for American winger Bobby Convey, who is set to miss Saturday's home clash with Charlton Athletic.
"Bobby is resting the knee and will miss out," added Fearn.
"He's due to return to the UK on Sunday, so we'll assess his fitness next week.
"Hopefully, he'll be able to return to training very quickly."
