Nicky Hammond today revealed that boss Steve Coppell is keen on furthering his interest in trialist Kelvin Jack.
With Marcus Hahnemann sidelined with a knee injury, the Royals chief wants to add the 28-year-old Trinidad & Tobago man to his squad before next weeks transfer deadline.
Jack, who has been training with the club for the past week has clearly impressed during the team's training sessions. However, the 6ft 4inch keeper has been unable to play reserve team football for the Royals as he cannot be granted international clearance to play until a permanent deal is in place.
Hammond revealed that the club will offer ex-Palace trialist Jack a short-term contract lasting until the end of the season so that they can see him in action for the reserves.
"We're investigating the possibility of signing him to the end of the season and that will give us the chance to have a look at him," said the Director of Football, speaking to the official site.
With first choice keeper Marcus Hahnemann out for the next couple of weeks, Kelvin Jack should get the chance to at least sit on the bench before the end of the campaign.
