He said: "I made three fouls in the game and got booked twice when none were malicious. I thought the first one was very harsh and I just mistimed my second.
"We wanted to start the second half strongly and win the first tackle because that can lift the team. We were 2-0 down at the time but it was a bit of a tired tackle.
"But even the red card he gave the QPR player was strange. Maybe he had it in his mind to even things up after that.
"Saying that, to get a second yellow knowing I had already been booked was stupid. I should have been more careful."
