The Royals visit Upton Park for the first time since Alan Pardew's appointment as West Ham manager on the 14th August, and the Coca Cola Championship game will be televised live on Sky Sports.

The game is scheduled for Tuesday 10th August and will now kick off at 8pm. It comes three days after Reading's first match of the season, at home to recently promoted Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Hammers match is sure to be an enthralling encounter as both sides will be desperate for the points in a bid to establish their early season credentials. But both sides will see the game as a bitter battle for superiority.

Alan Pardew will be desperate to win against Reading for the first time since his controversial departure from the Madejski Stadium last September. Pardew has come up against his former employers just once before, back in April when the Royals defeated the Hammers 2-0 thanks to two goals from flame-haired hero Dave Kitson.

Still hurting from that defeat, Pardew will be desperate to get one over the Royals. Yet Dave Kitson and Co will want to do it all again, so a pulsating end-to-end affair can surely be the only result.

It is little surprise therefore that this early season clash of the titans will be screened live on TV, all Royals fans unable to get a ticket for the game, and indeed many neutrals as well, will be sure to tune in for what will be a 'Coca Cola Championship blockbuster'.
