Reading's Republic of Ireland u21 international Joe Gamble looks set to sign for Carlisle United on loan.
The midfielder has flown North to play for Carlise in a friendly game against Premiership giants Newcastle tomorrow at Brunton Park.
The Cumberside based side will use the match as an opportunity to have a look at Gamble in action before deciding whether they want to persue a loan deal.
Meanwhile, boss Alan Pardew commented on his decision to let Gamble go, albeit temporarily.
Pards told the Reading Evening Post: "Joe has done very well this year. I feel a bit sorry for him because Kevin Watson and Andy Hughes have done pretty well.
"I want him to try and get some games, and I expect him to go to Carlisle and do well. If he does, we'll see if they want to take him on loan."
Carlise have a number of Irish players that Gamble has played international football alongside before at youth level.
