Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici has pledged to be "smarter" on the field after his error gifted Nottingham Forest a point at the weekend. Federici is known for his quick distribution which starts counter attacks for the Royals but saw one such swift clearance hit his own defender on Saturday and Rob Earnshaw was able to collect and score an equaliser for Forest. Federici said: "I think it cost us two points and I was a bit unlucky but that's the way it goes sometimes. I often do get blocked and it's unfortunate for me it ended up in the back of the net. "I wouldn't say it was a mistake because it was probably going to go to Jimmy Kebe's feet. I have done it a million times but unfortunately someone got in the way and it was unlucky. "I'm quite harsh on myself. I'll take it pretty hard but then I'll move on. "I work very hard on and off the pitch. I dedicate myself to the game 24/7 so it's obviously disappointing when moments like that happen. I will be all right, I have dealt with things like this before. It's not the first time one of those has been blocked but it is the first time someone has scored from it so I have to be smarter."
