"There are a lot of people hurting: I hope the players are, I am and we've got to try and rally round everybody - the players have got to try and lift the fans and the fans have got to lift everybody," Curbishley told Sky Sports.
"They (the fans) have been constant; the team hasn't."
Curbishley admits nothings changed since his arrival.
"I arrived two weeks ago and they were in the bottom three and we're still in the bottom three, I arrived two weeks ago and they were not scoring goals and we're still not scoring goals.
He wants to forget about twhat the club achieved last season.
"I keep hearing about last year and we've got to stop thinking about last year; this team is not the same. This year we're third bottom and we've got a bit to do.
"The players need a reality check. Their Premiership status is under threat and they need to realise that pretty quickly."
Curbishley continued: "We've got to start putting some three-pointers on the board.
"I've got to try and get some confidence back into these players and it's results that are going to do that. These players are better than they've been showing."
