"This time last year we were grateful to be in the division, and we've got to duplicate that feeling.
"We've got no divine right to be here, we have to earn it annually.
"The challenge before us is clear. We want to maintain our status and have a good journey en route to doing that.
"The last couple of years have been brilliant for anyone who is a Reading fan.
"We hope with their support we can emulate the last couple of seasons and give the Reading public something to be proud of and something to shout about."
