"It was put to me when we were talking that I could sign a longer deal, and I just thought why not, because I enjoy the people I'm working with, as well as the people I'm working for. I'm very fortunate in that respect.
"I've spent a lot of time here and in a lot of ways it would have been easy to leave because of what we've done, it would all reflect well. But I wanted to make a commitment; a statement that our work is ongoing.
"They say a week is a long time in football, and right now two years seems like a lifetime! In many ways I'm embarrassed by the fuss, but with one game in 28 days it seems a good time to sign, put it to bed and get back on with the work of finishing the season as best we can."
"There's still progress to be made. With the stadium expansion we'll get bigger crowds, bigger income and therefore better players. That's the only way to compete.
"We're blessed with some terrific players and we want to use that as a springboard for further success."
