The 22-year-old is hoping to convince Wales coach Gary Speed he is worth a place in the starting line-up at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
Church said: "It's something I've dreamt of as a kid. I'm sure I speak for everyone else when I say being given the chance to play in these sorts of games - games you really want to be a part of as a professional footballer - it's just really, really exciting."
Church, who has scored four goals for the Royals this season, spoke also of his excitement at the prospect of playing alongside Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.
He added: "Gareth has been tremendous for the past few seasons and is definitely one of the best left-sided players in the world at the moment, so he does give us great confidence.
"It's great to have [Aaron] back, he's a truly great player. The skills he has, the awareness he possesses and the ability he has to pick us out is unbelievable. Knowing you have him behind you gives us all great confidence going into the game."
