The Wales international was in from the start in place of Noel Hunt at the weekend and is confident of keeping the shirt.
He said: "It's been a long time on the sidelines and I've been eager to get in there and take my chance.
"But the front two have been playing really well and Shane [Long] has been on fire.
"It was good to get a run-out and hopefully I can now get an extended run in the side."
