Reading midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson may well have to fill in at centre-half again when Nottingham Forest arrive at the Madejski. The Icelandic veteran has played the last two games alongside Alex Pearce at the back and will do so again if Matt Mills is not fit. Mills injured his ankle during the opening-day defeat to Scunthorpe but is close to a return, while there is less good news with club captain Ivar Ingimarsson. Ingimarsson was due for a run-out for the reserves on Tuesday as he comes back from a hamstring injury but he was withdrawn by manager Brian McDermott. Midfielder Jay Tabb has been ruled out of Saturday's game with a recurring ankle problem, though striker Shane Long has a chance of recovering from a bruised hip. Noel Hunt came off the bench at Portsmouth last weekend after 10 months out with knee and ankle injuries and will again be involved as the Royals look for a first league win of the campaign.
