Reading manager Brian McDermott is happy with his depth of goalkeeping talent and will re-evaluate the situation in the New Year. Adam Federici, Alex McCarthy, Ben Hamer and Mikkel Andersen are all on the Royals' books, although the latter two are on loan at Brentford and Bristol Rovers respectively. The pair are at the League One outfits until January, with Hamer returning to Griffin Park to fill the void left by McCarthy, who was with the Bees earlier in the season. "I promised to give Ben the chance to go and play some games, and this will give him that opportunity," McDermott told the club's official website. "Alex will come back to us and be with Federici in our squad. And of course Mikkel is staying at Bristol Rovers. Then we can see where we are in January." Reading have a recall clause in both Hamer and Andersen's loan agreements.
