Wednesday have appointed Chris Turner, a former Owls keeper, as manager since the sides last met back in August. He replaces the dismissed Terry Yorath.
In the last encounter, Reading won 2-1, their first win of the season, thanks to a brace from Jamie Cureton.
Despite Sheffield Wednesday being bottom of the league it will be no easy game. Strong backing from Reading's travelling fanbase will be necessary to help the team come away with all three points.
The Owls, who are struggling financially, have allocated have the Royals 2,118 tickets for the fixture at the 40,000 all-seater ageing Hillsborough stadium.
Tickets will be priced at £17 for adults and £10 for children and over 60s.
Season ticket holders will be able to get hold of their tickets for the clash following Reading's game with Derby on December 28th. They will be available on a two-per-season-ticket basis.
STAR memebers will then be able to buy from Thursday 2nd January 2003 before the rest of the allocation goes on general sale on Friday 3rd January.
Supporter's Club Coach Travel will cost £16 per person. Times for departure are yet to be confirmed but will likely be 9.15am from the MAdejski Stadium and 9.30am from Station Hill.
